Joey's POV

I was focused on playing that she didnt realize it was already 6:45. I stopped in the middle of the song and panicked, "Oh my god I'm totally late. Uh thanks for letting me play your guitar I'll see you...when i see you. I gotta go bye."
"Wait can I call you?"
I thought for a second. Why would he want to call me?
"Uh yea sure."
Micheal smiled and his friend waved. I ran down stairs into the kitchen and poked my head through the door, "Hey Katherine I'm really sorry but I have to go I didn't realize it was already passed 6:30!"
"It's cool haha. See you tomorrow?"she said with a mouth half full of ice cream.
"Yea sure seeya." I said while running towards the door.
I ran next door to my house and found all four of my friend sitting on my porch looking bored.
"You guys I am so sorry! I didn't pay attention to the time at Katherine's house and i then i went to play on Nick's guitar and I got caught up with that and so then i had to rush over here and I'm just comepletely sorry! Really."
All of my friends laughed and Muarine explained," It's ok Joey it's only been 15 minutes anyway. Just let us inside so we can finnaly get this thing started haha."
I smiled and opened the door. As soon as everyone got in the first thing they did was drop their bags and head to the kitchen
I set the keys down on the counter and sat down.
"So what happend at bod god's house?" Maurine said with a slight smirk creeping up on her mouth.
"Nothing," I rolled eyes." I just hung out with Katherine and played on Nick's guitar a little.
Maurine frowned," Micheal wasn't there?"
"No he took off in the Barbie bitches' car."
"Uh who's the Barbie bitch?"
"His girlfriend."
"Oh. ew."
"You can say that again."
"Oh. ew." she smiled.
"I was kidding you idiot." i said slapping her arm playfully.
We grabbed lots of snacks and went up to my room. Once we got in my room Tiffany imediatly headed towards the CD's.
"Please tell me you have Tiffany Evans CD. I love that song promise ring."
"Uhhhh no. Is it even out yet."
"Oh you know what i don't even know."
"Well anyway here I want you to listen to this punk pop band i like. I know it's not you type of music but it's actually really cool you should listen to em."
Tiffany turned up her nose before saying, "Fine. Who are they?"
"A band called Bowling For Soup."
"What the hell? Bowling For Soup? Joey i don't want to listen to some band with a stupid name like that!"
"Come onnnnn. Just one song ok. They're awesome."
Tiffany sighed and flopped down on my bed. I went over to my boom box and put the CD in. I turned to track 8 and the steroes played way loud. I started to sing the song.
"Ohhhh i knew that band sounded familiar." Shelby said. She got up and we both sung and danced to the music in front of Maurine,Valarie, and Tiffany.
"Four years you think for sure

Halfway through the song i heard the phone ringing. I turned down the volume and answered it, "Hello?" i answered kind of out breath from the dancing. I heard a chuckle on the other end of the line,"Hey Joey. It's Nick"
"Oh hey Nick whats up?"
"Nothing really but I'm guessing your having a good time at your house aren't you."
I made a face of confusion as if he could see me, "How do you know?"
"The music is loud HaHa. You having a party or something?"
"Well yea sorta. A sleepover."
"Oh. Cool."
"Yea..."
There was a short pause on the phone," So uh did you want something."
"Uh-uh oh yea um....i was wondering. Would you maybe like to, I dunno um, go out to eat Saturday."
I made my eyes go wide and looked and my friends. I covered the bottom part of the phone so he wouldn't hear me say,"Guys Nick just asked me out!"
"That's Great!" squealed Valarie and Shelby.
"Ohhh yea we have to see if he's cute." said Tiffany searching through her bag for her binoculars.
Tiffany, Maurine, Shelby, Valarie ran over to my window.
"Ok so which room is it?" asked Valarie.
"Uh i dont know." i replied.
"Ohhh i think i know." said Maurine pointing to the window with the curtains open.
And from our view from my window Nick was doing sit ups...with his shirt off.
"Oh my god he has a great body." i said staring at his Abs.
Maurine raised an eyebrow, "Oh so you've found a new Bod God now eh? ooh Joey you move quickly." she joked.
I playfully slap her on the head, "No I'm just saying that he happens to have a good looking body..." i lied.
"Oh cut the crap Joey you know you want to drool over his 6 pack." she laughed.
"Hello? Hello? Joey are you still there?"
I had forgotten Nick was still on the phone.
"Oh I'm really sorry. What were you saying?"
"I kinda just asked you out..."
"Oh right. I'm sorry my friends were be stupid."
"So...um will you?"
"Uhhh y-yea I'd love too." I studdered
"Really?"
I was still watching him through the window while he was talking to me on the phone. He was smiling, and suprisingly i was too.
"Yea really." i replied.
"Great! I'll pick you up at 8 on saturday alright?"
"Cant wait."
"Cool. Well. Bye"
"Bye Nick."
I heard stayed on the phone listening to the dial tone for a few seconds. Then a big grin spread across my face. I'm going out with Nick saturday. He's cute, kinda shy, and he seems nice. I like him, i can't wait for Saturday. My friends eyed me while i was grinning, with smirks coming on their faces. Then they all sang. " OoOh JOEY'S GOT A BOD GOD! HE'S A TOTAL HOT ROD! THEY'LL BE KISSING REALLY SOON. AND HAVING QUICKIES IN THE NOON."
We all busted out laughing on the floor. Oh my god. We haven't sung that song in years.Want to know why? and How we came up with that. Well It didn't used to be just us 5 amigos. Yup their were 6 of us. Well actually it was 4 but Valarie and Tiffany came into our friendship group years after my friend Tara Mckee moved. She was awesome, my best friend, next to Maurine. Anyway she moved to Italy about 4 years ago right before our 9th grade year started. Anyway, we used to sing that anytime one of us got a boyfriend. When Tara left and Val and Tiff came along. We taught them the song too. But we never sang it. It just didn't feel right to sing it anymore. I haven't laughed this hard since.
Tara Mckee
"Shut up you guys." i laughed. "He's not even my boyfriend were just going on a date"
"Yea yea yea. But he'll probably ask you to be his girlfriend soon anyway. I mean did you see that smile on his face lol. I'm surprised he didn't do jumping jacks of joy when you said yes. I think he's quite smitten with you dear". joked Valarie.
I rolled my eyes, "Whatever dorks. Now let's get this party started!"
We mostly danced, talked about boys, and scarffed down junk food and snacks the rest of the night.

Micheal's POV
Laurine and I were in her car on the way back to my house. She pulled up the driveway and turned the car off. I opened the door and was getting ready to get out when Laurine snagged my jacket.
"Where are you going?" she asked.
"Uhhh inside. I live here. Remember."
"Yea like no duh but...dont i get a good night kiss?" she asked flirtatiously.
I turned towards her and clothes the door. "Lauren...we need to talk."
"About what baby." she said while nibbling on my ear.
"God that feels good. No wait stay focused" i thought.
"Lauren stop." i said moving her away.
She looked annoyed now. "Why?"
"Because...Lauren were through."
"WHAT???" she yelled.
"I'm sorry I-"
"WHY YOU BASTARD WHAT DID I DO?" she continued to yell cutting me off.
"BECAUSE I LIKE SOMEONE ELSE!" i raised my voice.
Lauren eyes got wide and the she slapped me across my jaw. Then she did it again. She was about to do it again when i grabbed her wrist.
"No one...slaps me." i hissed at her.
I let go of her wrist and calmed down.
"Well no one breaks up with me! You two timer"
"I'm not two timing, I just like someone else."
"Whatever you bastard get out of my car!"
I opened the door and got out. She started the engine and pulled out of the driveway fast. Knocking over the trash bin in the process. I sighed and thought to myself. "Joey...you'd better be worth me getting slapped."
