On the way to Micheal's house we talked about random things, it was pretty decent conversation, until I spotted Lauren coming out of Micheal's house just as we were coming up the driveway.
"LIKE EW! What are you doing with...that." Lauren said disgusted and reverted her eyes from Micheal to me.
"Well Lauren THIS is Josephine Rodwell." He said putting his hand on my shoulder," She's our next door neighbor."
Lauren turned up her nose at the Joey and turn her gaze to Micheal.
"I waited for an hour and I find out that you were walking around with this Rosephine and her dog?-"
"It's Josephine, Lauren." I corrected annoyed knowing very well she said my name wrong on purpose.
"Yea, whatever..."
"Joey and I just met while I was at the park Lauren. I went there to think and I found her dog blocking a swing a kid wanted to get on at the playground. So i brought him over to her."
"Oh. Well, anyway do you want to go out to eat?" Lauren asked Micheal.
"Sure." he said, "gimme a sec to get my wallet out of my room."
"Okay. I'll be in the car."
I followed Micheal to the door.
"Wait where do you think your going?" asked Laurine eyeing me.
"Well i "think I'm going to go inside and get my clothesI left over here yesterday.
"What clothes???You were here with Micheal yesterday too?"
"Not that I think it's any of your business but no I was here with Katherine yesterday. Now if you'll excuse me, I have more important things to do than to answer your stupid questions. Hop in your Barbie car and wait for Micheal to come out or something." I shot back.
I went inside and left Lauren and her mouth gaped open and glaring at my back as I shut the door behind me.

Katherine POV
"Oh my freakin god!" i said to myself laughing.
I had just heard and saw what Josephine said to Lauren(I was being nosy looking throught the big window in the living room). No one's ever done that before. It was so pleasing to see the look on Lauren's face when Josephine came inside. I ran out of the living room and into the hallway and grabbed her arms.
"You are officially the coolest person ever!" i said estaticlly.
Josephine smiled, "HaHa thanks but how am I the coolest person ever?"
"BECAUSE! You totally just told that witch bitch Lauren to drive off on her barbie broom."
"I did?"
"Well no but you did tell her to back off and get in her car basically"
"Oh..."
I noticed Joey's smile fade.
"Whats wrong?"
"Um. Ok can you keep a secret?"
"Of course. But if your gonna tell me lets go to my room first for privacy."

Joey's POV
We were almost at the top of the stairs to go to Katherine's room when Nick came out of his room obviously into a book. He almost didnt realize Katherine and I were there until i tripped on the last stair. Before I could fall flat on my face Nick had grabbed me by my waist. His grip around me was strong as he pulled me up. I blushed so much i was sure i looked like a cherry.
"Are you okay?" i thought i heard Katherine ask.
But i wasn't paying attention to her question. There was a window at the end of the hallway where Katherine's room was. And the light shineing through it had caused Nick's eye color to become completey incredible. It was like an icy blue green color(Picture the bahamas waters frozen but still see through). I stood there y until he also asked, " You okay Joey?"
"I..uh um. I-I-Im ok, yea. Thank you." I stutterd embarrassingly.
He must have realized his hand was around my waist still because removed his arm and gave a half smile. In some weird way i was dissapointed that he did'nt keep his arm around me. I returned a half smile and follwed Katherine to her room.
Katherine's room.
We sat on her bed and she asked," So...what's the big secret?"
"Um...well I-I kinda like your brother...actually." i said slowy.
She smirked," Yea i kinda noticed that already. It looked like you two wanted to replay a certain scene from 'The Notebook' back there." She wiggled her eyebrows up and down 3 times.
"Wait what?" i asked confused.
"I think it's already obvoius that you like ." she said smiling.
"WAIT YOU THOUGHT I LIKED NICK???"
She thought for a moment realizing her error. "Ohhhhh you meant you like my brother Micheal?!?!"
"Yea!"
"Oh oops my bad. But why Micheal? He's so c0cky and dumb jockyish..."
"I happend to think he's cute." i said smiling"
"Oh god please dont turn out to be one of those girls."
"What kind of girl?"
"You know. The kind that fawns all over a guy that uses them or barely even notices them."
"HEYYYY! I resent that!"
Katherine rolled her eyes and laughed. "Wanna go down stairs and see what's in the fridge?"
"Mmmm. Sure-wait what time is it?"
"2:30 why?"
"Oh shoot my friends should be over for the sleepover in a little bit. I should go home and get changed."
"It's kinda early to start the sleepover now though. Dont you think? Haha."
"Oh yea but we were planning on-....forget it. I'll call and tell them to come at 6:30."
"Oh sure the phones right over there."
I walked towards the phone and picked it up. Hmmmm i'll call Maurine and tell her to spread the message to the others.
Ring, Ring, Ring, Ring
"Hello?"
"Hey Maurine it's Joey."
"Oh hey Joey I'm on my way to your house now. I'm leaving out the door."
"Oh no wait!"
"Huh?"
"Sorry i have to reschedule it..be there at 6:30 instead."
"Why?"
"Because I'm at Katherine's house right now and I thought I'd hang out with her a little bit before the sleepover."
"Who's Katherin?"
"My next neighbor."
"Geez how many next door neighbors can you possibly have?" she asked rhetorically.
"Katherine is Micheal's and Nick's little sister Maurine..." i said
"Wait that means...OH SHIT YOUR IN MICHEAL'S HOUSE?!?!"
I tooked my ears away from the to avoid her loud cheery screeching.
"Maurine I gotta go.Tell Valarie, Shelby, and Tiffany i rescheduled.
"WAIT! You must tell me everything that happend there tonight at the sleepover! Promise?"
I rolled my eyes. "Promise."
I hung up the phone and tunred around to find Katherine in front of me with one of her eyebrows raised.
"That was quite alot of happy screeching on the phone there. Maurine must be happy your staying over a little longer. " Katherine laughed.
I rolled my eyes and smiled. "Pretty much..."
We both laughed and headed towards the kitchen.

Nick's POV
I wonder what time Joey is going home. She's already been here for over 2 hours. I wonder if she'll stay the night.....
"Hey, think fast!"
Jess darted a guitar pick at my eye.
"Dammit Jess!"
"Oops my bad man...Iwas just trying to pull you out of your oh so boring train of thought. What were you thinking about anyway?"
"It's nothing...nothing at all." I said furrowing my brow. I didn't want to tell Jess about Joey right now.
"Dude I've known you for like how long, 4 years right? Do you honestly think I'll fall for the "It's nothing" crap and actually drop the subject?"
"No." I snorted.
"Well then Nick boy, spill." he said grinning.
"First of all dont call me that. And second of all...there's this girl..."
"Ahhh. So the young shy lad Nicholas Garret is crushing on a babe." Jess mocked in a Midevil accent smiling," Who's the girl?"
Nick rolled his eyes and pointed towards the door. "...Katherine's new friend. Our neighbor."
"The one downstairs?"
"Yea. Her name is Joey, short for Josephine.
"Ahhh. And does she know you like her."
"Hell no...she probably just see's me as the brother of her freind anyway...."
"Which you are. Haha. Well my friend....I suggest you choose one of the two options. You either tell her. Or you play a little sad song country boy." he joked.
"Thats not a bad idea. I'll play the song then." Grinning i picked up my guitar as Jess rolled his eyes and I started playing "You'll Think of Me" by Keith Urban.
"Take your records, take your freedom.

Joey's POV
Katherine and I were sitting in the living room talking abot the latest season of smallville, when I heard someone singing and playing guitar.
"Who's playing?"
"Oh. That's Nick just playing on his guitar."
"Oh...that's one of my favorite country songs."
"Really?!?! Nick loves that song. He plays it so much . His guitar should start refusing to cooporate with him when he wants to play it." Katherine joked.
"Hm. I'll be right back."
"Mmkay."
I went upstairs and peeked in the room I heard the music coming from. Nick's friend had noticed but Nick himself had yet to do so. So I walked in and tried to hear him finish the rest of the song.
Nick's Room
"And take your cap, and leave my sweater.
Cause we have nothing left to weather.
In fact I'll feel a whole lot better.
But-."
I sang the rest. "You'll think of me."
His head shot up and his eyes widened.
"Oh uh Joey what are your doing in here?"
"Oh sorry I just heard you playing from downstairs. You sounded great, so I came up here to get a front row seat." I said smiling.
"Oh yea sure have a seat." he said pointing to a desk chair near his friend.
I sat down.
"What kind of guitar is it?" I asked.
"Seagull S6."
"Cool. Awesome for begginers guitar."
"Yea, i guess."
"Can I play it a little?"
"You play too?"
"Yea. I've been playing since was 13."
"Cool. Well here." He handed over the guitar and pick.
I grabbed the both and got in my playing position. After just strumming a few notes I decided to play one of my favorite songs. Incapable by Katlyn Autry.

Nick's POV
I couldn't believe Joey was in my room singing and playing on my guitar. She sounded great.

As she continued to play there was one thing I wanted to say I she sang.
