Joey's POV
"Uhhhh…Nick what are we doing at the park?
He gave a simple smile and replied, "It's a surprise."
Hmmm a surprise eh? We walked towards a white tent. " You guys aren't planning on sleeping with us in here are you?" I joked.
"N-no of course not!" Nick blushed.
I laughed at him a little as he held open a curtain to the entrance of the tent. We all walked in and immediately the setting took my breath away. There was a table with a beautiful white cloth draped over it. It had fancy looking plates with a gold trim around them and a set of gold silverware to match them. There were white rose petals all over the ground. Everything looked really beautiful in the candle light. I started to feel a little guilty, this is the kind of date where only a guy would take a girl he really really liked, it was so romantic. Yet I blew it by making it a triple date. and I don't even think I like Nick that way, at least not as much as I think he likes me. I like him more as a friend…I think.
I turned to Nick and said, "You went all out. You really didn't have to do this. This is…gorgeous. Why did you-"
He cut me off by putting a finger on my mouth. "Because I like you…a lot."
I blushed and turned my attention to the ground.
"Come on let's sit down."
Everybody sat down and Nick pulled out a picnic basket. In the basket was a big bowl of spaghetti with a glad wrap over it. He pulled off the glad wrap and began serving the spaghetti to everyone and then put some on his plate.
"Wow man you really would make a great waiter one day." Jess joked.
Nick glared at him and began eating his food.
"Mmmm this is really good." Tiffany complimented, "Did your mom make this.?"
"Actually…I made it." he said.
"Oh wowwww. Nice." she said and then turned her attention to Jess, " I guess you might be wrong Jess he wont be a waiter. But probably a chef."
He chuckled and continued to eat. Once everybody was done eating we all talked and had our own conversations.
"I didn't know you cooked. Katherine never mentioned it to me." I smiled.
"Yea I've been cooking for 5 years actually."
"That's great. Do you plan on taking culinary courses when you get to college?"
"Uhhh. Actually no."
I watched his expression turn to slight anger, "Why not?"
"Because, I have to take over my dad's bank when I turn 19. When I turn 18 they'll show me how to run it and how things work there. There wont be time to go to college."
"Why do you have to run the bank? Can't Micheal-"
He cut me off and said, "Micheal refused to do it. And Katherine cant do it because she's too young. Look can we just drop the subject."
"Oh. Um….ok."
"Look, I'm sorry."
"No it's ok really, I was being nosy anyway."
"No you weren't you were just curious….sorry."
I put my hand on his knee. He looked down at my hand and back to me.
"It's ok." I assured him."
Gavin's POV
I watched Valarie play with the skirt of her dress twirling it around her finger. She was biting her bottom lip and looking at a candle. I wonder if she's nervous.
"So, Valarie, that's a very pretty name." I said trying to start up a conversation.
"Oh," she blushed, "thank you. Gavin is a good name too. Actually it's my favorite name…"
"Really?" I said with a small smirk appearing on my face.
She nodded and blushed.
"Well…I guess Valarie will have to become my favorite name then."
She blushed yet again this time turning her head with a small smile.
"Let's go outside, I have a feeling there's a star to look at with your name on it." I smiled.
"Ok." she grinned.
Valarie's POV
We went outside and went a little ways from the tent. I looked up at the stars, "Wow, they look amazing tonight."
"Yea they do, just like you." I heard him sat behind me.
I turned around and gazed in his eyes for a moment.
"Why do you keep complimenting me?"
"Because, it seems to make you happy. I don't think you realize how beautiful you are…"
"How would you know if I thought I was beautiful or not?"
"The stars keep whispering to me. Wanna know what they keep saying?"
"What?"
"They're saying tell her she's beautiful."
I blushed and turned away from him and looked back up to the sky.
"Well tell them I said thank you." I smiled.
"Thank you for what? Telling you your beautiful?"
"No…tell them thank you for telling a handsome guy to tell me that I'm beautiful." I smiled turning back to him.
He grinned madly and looked up at the sky, "You hear that stars? She thinks I'm handsome. Oh and I almost forgot. She said thank you too." he joked.
I giggled and looked at the ground. He lifted up my chin and gazed into my eyes. I caught my breath as he bent down and kiss me on my cheek.
His cell phone rang and he gave me a little smile before answering it.
"Hello?"
"Hey its Jess, where are you dude?"
"Oh sorry Valarie and I walked away for a bit."
"Well head back were about to leave."
"Alright. Be there in a minute."
He hung up his phone and looked at me with a sad smile.
"Sorry Belle but we have to head back."
"Belle?" I asked confused
"Yes Belle. It means Beautiful in french."
"Oh…" I blushed.
I seemed to be doing that a lot tonight around him. We walked back to the tent hand in hand.
Jess's POV
I just got off the phone with Gavin. Apparently they had walked off to do whatever. I looked over at Tiffany who had a bored expression on her face.
"Hey you ready to go?"
"Yea."
Her voice sounded sexy. God I should get her to talk more.
"So…while we wait for those two love birds…did you enjoy yourself?"
"Well the food was great, other than that. It was kind of boring."
"Yea I know, this really isn't my idea of a first date."
"Yea I know. He really went over the top. I gotta give him credit though, it's beautiful in here."
"Yea. It's nice."
Yes I managed to get a few sentences out of her. I've got to keep the conversation going.
"So, this triple date. Wasn't it just supposed to be just the two of them?" I said pointing to Nick and Joey.
"Uh yea Joey didn't want to go on the date alone."
"Oh…why not?"
"Nerves I guess."
"So did she force you to come or bribe you?" I joked.
"Bribe."
"…so you didn't want to come…"
She looked at me for a moment then turned her attention to a candle. "No not really."
"Oh. Well sorry you had to end up with me."
She turned around to look at me with confusion on her face. "Why would you be sorry?"
"I don't kow. I guess because I know you didn't want to go on this date with me tonight."
"How would you kow that?"
"I don't I guess it's because-"
I was cut off from finishing my senetence when I felt Tiffany's soft silky lips on mine. God could she kiss. Before she let stopped kissing me she nibbled my bottom lip. She pulled away and I sat there still stunned that she had kissed me.
"Does it seem like I don't want to be on this date with you now?"
"Uh-uh -uh I-I…"
"Yea I thought so." she said with a small smirk.
Nick's POV
I looked down at my watch. It was 11:30, I should probably take everybody home now.
"I think I should probably get you back home now."
"Yea. I wouldn't want the rents to worry too much." she joked.
"Haha. Yea, so lets round everybody up."
We walked over to the other side of the tent where Jess and Tiffany looked like they were flirting. I raised an eyebrow at Jess.
"Hey guys ready to go."
"Uh yea sure man." Jess answered.
"Well come on then, lets go get Gavin."
We all walked outside and right on cue Gavin and Valarie were just a few steps away…holding hands?
"Hey, you two look like you had a good time." I smiled.
"Yea you could say that." They both smiled and Valarie look to be blushing a little.
"Well let's go then shall we."
We all headed back to the Hummer. The ride back to Joey's house was kind of quiet except for some occasional comments coming from Jess. We finally arrived at Joey's house. I walked Joey to the door, Jess and Tiffany stayed in the Hummer for a minute, and Gavin and Valarie stood in front of the Hummer.
"So…this triple date thing actually turned out pretty well. It seems like Gavin and Valarie have like each other." I said.
"Yea , and Jess and Tiffany seem to like each other too."
"Yea I know…well, do you think we could do this again sometime? Maybe even without Gavin, Jess, Valrie, and Tiffany tagging along."
"You know what…I'd like that."
I grinned and said, "Great."
Joey's POV
His head leaned towards in towards me. I debated on wether I should fill the gap and just kiss him. But before I knew it our lips met. Surprisingly I drifted into a state of complete and utter bliss. Unaware of everything else, it was just the two of us in that moment. He was the first to pull away, but not completely, his forhead was rested on mine.
"Wow." I managed to say.
"Haha, yea, wow."
I pulled apart from him and put my hand on his cheek, "Thank you. This date was great."
"Your welcome. You made it even greater."
Valarie's POV
"I had a nice time tonight."
"I did too. I'm glad I came."
"Me too." I smiled.
I wonder if he's going to kiss me. I hope he does, i really like him. He's so sweet, cute, and really funny. And he keeps calling me beautiful. I don't know why, but i kind of like it. I've always been know as a tomboy. Nothing about me was beautiful, at least that's what I thought. Gavin lifted my chin and leaned in to kiss me. At that moment I felt like I was hit in the head with 10 soccer balls. That may sound like it hurts but I meant it in a good way. He was a really good kisser. We finally parted our kiss and I gave him a bright smile.
"Haha that's the biggest smile you've shown all night. Most of the time you just blush."
"I know I'm sorry. Haha."
"No i like when you blush too though. Maybe I should compliment you and kiss you more often."
"Maybe."
"Well lets work on that right now shall we?"
Before I could answer he was already kissing me again. Here comes another 10 soccer balls, I thought. I'm really really starting to love soccer more than I thought I already did. He parted the kiss and said, " I'll see you soon, hopefully."
"You most likely will." i smiled, "Goodnight."
"Goodnight, my blushing Belle."
Tiffany's POV
I kissed Jess on the cheek and said goodnight. I was about to open the car door when Jess stopped me.
"Wait." he pulled me into a kiss that was so freakin hot it could make a girls tracks fall out. Although my hair is real and mine of course. I pulled away and gazed into his eyes before asking, "What was that for?"
"It's a thank you."
"Thank you for what?"
"For coming on this date tonight. Otherwise I wouldn't have got to kiss you."
I smiled and gave him a small kiss on the lips. "I'm glad I came too."
"Can we do this again sometime?"
"Yea sure, I'd like that."
"Good….I cant wait." he smiled.
"Me either."
He kissed me one more time and I said goodnight. I got out of the care and joined Valarie and Joey on her porch. We waved goodnight to the guys and headed inside Joey's house.
